Poetry, Prose and Lyrics

I've lived in various Dallas suburbs since moving here from rural East Texas back in the 80's. So, I identify as a Neosuburban.

This section contains words that I wrote down in a particular pattern that will speak to you in a unique and beautiful way. Or not.

Rebecca Marguerite Birmingham Montgomery from Atlanta, Texas. Go Rabbits!

Currently residing in the beautiful city of Richardson, Texas

Neosuburban

A Circling Spin

Of Directionless Wind

Kaleidoscope Symmetries

Let’s get away from here

And leave all the baggage behind

Get In a driverless car

And see how far

We can go

To the next town

Or to the edge of the universe

We’ll be together

Thru shadowless meadows

To the places of dreams

Filled with countless possibilities

Kaleidoscope Symmetries

Of Love and Life and

You and me

Breaking the Chains

Of the ghosts

Of Calamity

Ark La Tex

I was born in the Unholy Trinity

Of Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas

I learned about Sin in Sunday School

Some lessons I learned the hard way

Sometimes it’s not enough to seek forgiveness

Sometimes it’s not enough to pray

I don’t know where I’m going….

But I do know where I'm from……

Black Bayous

Black Magic

And……………… Miracle…………… Whip

Of Red Dirt

White Trash

Grey Spanish Moss

Gothic

Hidden Secrets

In Ancient Lakes

From Tall Pine Trees

Evergreen

In Thick Woods

Virgin Soil

Untouched by man or woman

Like a forest astronaut

Bad Weather Girl

I can blow into your life

With very little warning

Drought by night

Or Flood by morning

I’m a Texas Sized Tornado

Don’t Mess with me

I’m a bad weather girl

A Southern Banshee

Hurricane winds

Don't really matter

I can sink your ship

I’m a Natural Disaster

A wildfire feeding on

The dust of your soul

I’m a bad weather girl

And I’m on a roll

Far Away Here

I see the air

I feel the light

I touch the sky

With you tonight

I walk on water

I breathe your skin

I dance on cliffs

Beginning to end

I hold you close

In a distant way

Like an orbiting planet

Or

A castaway

A quiet despair

A knowing fear

To let love in

Then disappear

I invent conversations

To feed my delusions

I dream of words

With no translations

I wish for love

On moonless nights

Dark is the color

Of my soul in flight

Warm is the thought

Of you tonight
